Hey! I’m Cassie
I am located in Sandpoint, ID and proud to be serving the PNW + beyond.
I’ve never believed creativity has to fit neatly into one niche. The way we experience life is layered, and I want my work to reflect that. What i’m drawn to most are likeminded people who have a desire to share their story.
My dog Boonie is the reason I live and breathe and he’s with me probably 98% of the time. He’s also been my muse as far as wanting to capture people and their pets, and he never questions my music choice on long road trips.
When I’m not working for my business, I do contract work for an incredible video production company called “Motus” which takes me all over the country. If you’re ever in need of large scale video production work, check us out here! I’m typically not in one place for long!
In my free time, you’ll find me stuck in a book, drinking coffee, and traveling as much as possible. I’m a firm believer that going out to a restaurant or coffee shop is a form of self care. A large part of my world revolves around animals, travels, and showing folks how beautiful they are - all of which continue to shape the way I see and tell stories through my lens.
How my journey started..
My creative journey began in the hospitality industry, where I spent years working as a barista and waitress. That experience shaped far more than my work ethic, it molded the way I tell stories. Hospitality taught me to anticipate needs before they become problems, to pay attention to atmosphere, how to read a room, and understand how deeply people remember the way a person or place made them feel.
From a young age, I became obsessed with anything old and Americana. I fell in love with coffee at 14 and have worked with it for the majority of my life. From starting out in a diner in a small Pacific Northwest town, to working through many coffee shops + restaurants in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. I loved the little daily conversations I would have with my fellow hospo workers, and the micro interactions I would have with customers that turned into close friends. What started behind the espresso machines and busy restaurant floors naturally evolved into a desire to show how I viewed this world and these conversations. This led to picking up my camera and telling visual stories within the hospitality world - inviting others into a glimpse of our life working in the restaurant.
I wanted a way to bottle these hilarious conversations up and capture the ‘dear diary’ moments. So! I created the “Hospo Bimbo” podcast. This was super successful and brought me SO much joy. Through this process, I started sharing my coffee journey by making short form videos and capturing my favorite coffee spots, motels, and diners through photos. To this day, Hospo Bimbo is my absolute pride and joy and it was the catalyst to stepping into filmmaking and photography, resulting in a wonderful journey.
The common theme has always remained the same: nostalgia, connection, and capturing moments that people want to return to. And so, as a home to all of my creative endeavours that stem from the same heart, Nostalgic Heart Productions was born. Ive been working within this industry now for 7 years. It is my absolute passion and purpose to keep creating.
I will forever have a soft spot for hospitality and creating content in a nostalgic diner or motel - and you can bet I will ALWAYS be down to make you a coffee :)
